Symposium and exhibition: Timor-Leste: Then and Now, Friday 27 October, Melbourne.

Student Conservators for Timor-Leste present a symposium: Timor Leste, Then and Now, celebrating the cultural heritage of Timor-Leste.

The symposium will include keynote speaker Marqy Da Costa, director of Afalyca Community Arts Centre, Kim Dunphy and Holly Schauble from Many Hands International speaking about the digital preservation of the cultural heritage of Fataluku, and human rights advocate Pat Walsh (OTL, AM) speaking about the new institute of memory (Centro Nacional Chega!).

The exhibition includes prints from Afalyca, Tais from East Timor Women Australia (ETWA), a photo display from the 40th anniversary of Timor-Leste refugees coming to Australia, and a conservation project undertaken by Grimwade Centre students from the University of Melbourne with CHART Inc.
