Seeking your support for our ‘Music Creation School Holiday Program’ at the Lautem Cultural Centre
In 2020, MHI is running school holiday activities to enable young people to learn a range of creative art forms, lead by professional Timorese artists. Week-long workshops in previous years have included digital imagery and painting on glass and performing arts. Each workshop series concludes with a community event, allowing students to celebrate their creative achievements with their families and the wider community. Visiting Artist School Holiday Program April 2018: digital art and painting on glass with Simao
09/04/18 - 13/04/18During the Easter school holidays, Many Hands International hosted a special 5-day creative workshop at the Lautem Cultural Centre. 25 young boys and girls learned how to paint on glass and then organised a community exhibition to celebrate their creative achievements with their families. Visiting Artist Simao, from Arte Morris and Many Hands Arts Participation Officer, Cesario Laudes lead the activity, sharing their skills and knowledge with the young students. Visiting Artist School Holiday Program August 2018: Theatre Workshop and Performance with Lena
13/08/18 - 17/08/18During the August school holidays, MHI hosted visiting performance artist, Lena Caminha from Teatro Timor. For five days Lena worked with young local students from the MHI Creative Arts Program to create a theatre performance to showcase at a special community event. MHI students hold exhibition in Dlii
03/10/18 - 03/10/18My Family, My Culture' Youth Arts Exhibition in Dili, Timor-Leste On the 28th of September 2018, students from MHI's Vida Arte Galeria showcased their artwork at a special exhibition titled 'My Family, My Culture' in Dili, the capital city of Timor Leste. Of Love and Other Demons: Lina Andonovska Fundraising Concert for Many Hands International
04/09/11Flutist Lina Andonovska performs music by Dean, Piazzolla and Debussy in a spicy program that gains its title after Gabriel Garcia Marquez’ novel Of Love and Other Demons. Inspired by her travels in Timor-Leste, Lina teams up with acclaimed musicians Dan McKay (guitar), Jacinta Dennett (harp), Charlotte Burbrook de Vere (viola) and Stefan Cassomenos (piano) to raise money for MHI's Lospalos Centre for Traditional and Contemporary Arts and Culture Project in Lospalos.
